Tasting Notes

This classic Burgundian-style wine is a delicate but complex wine. It is light colored, silky and crisp with a round mouth feel that has brilliant outstanding fruit forward floral notes. This wine has a hint of cherries, spice and cola.   Our luscious pinot wine's excellent balance of acids ensures it will compliment any meal.

Winemaker's Notes

This year's beautiful crop came in clean with minimal interference during processing and crushing. The brix were at 26.2 and the small, tight pinot clusters tasted well-rounded right out of the vineyards. The grapes were cold soaked after crushing to maximize color extraction and flavors. Then the grapes were inoculated with select yeast to undergo primary fermentation. After racking into French oak barrels the wine underwent a secondary malolactic fermentation to round out the mouth feel making it crisp with a lasting finish. Our soft pinot was then barrel aged for 11 months.

2008 Gracianna Zinfandel

Tasting Notes

Very dark in color, this earthy, tannic red prefers some time to bottle age. As it softens this wine shows off its silky mouth feel. This "Zin" offers mineral scents and a long, sleek, blackberry finish. I recommend laying this vintage down to bottle age for at least one year. This Zinfandel will compliment any meal with complex flavors.

Winemaker's Notes

An ancient grape variety, zinfandel has grown increasingly more popular among wine connoisseurs. Typically a bold wine, it usually exhibits dark color and a grand mouth feel. This zinfandel is a big and bold wine with deep ruby color. Blackberries will unfurl throughout your mouth with a soft and silky approach. Brilliant, tight bunches of grapes were lovingly handled throughout the growing season and hardly coaxed using my "whole-cluster" winemaking approach. This wine will benefit from decanting 30-45 minutes prior to enjoying and will age well over the coming years.

2009 Gracianna Chardonnay

Tasting Notes

Suzanne's Blend is a lovely classic Russian River Chardonnay with a hint of tropical floral scents and tastes of lemon/lime and citrus. There is also a slight butter cream flavor to round out this savory straw colored wine. Our judicious use of oak balances the fresh and crisp finish. This, our maiden chardonnay, is a beautiful focused creation that you can enjoy year round.

I can't tell you how pleased I am to have made this wine with my own hands. Suzy deserves this tribute for her fortitude and graciousness that symbolizes what Gracianna stands for. With bright pears and a gorgeous mouth feel this complex wine is ready to enjoy with any meal. Made from fruit by a well known Russian River grower it was not easy to source.
